When it was built, the Árkád shopping centre and office building was considered one of the most complex facilities in Budapest. Operational reliability and energy efficiency were the decisive factors in its design and construction, and the building introduced a number of technical solutions that were new to Hungary.
The ventilation that provides heating and cooling is a variable-air-volume fresh-air system, fitted with heat recovery units in line with the energy-efficiency requirements. The technical standard of the built-in fire protection systems is far above average.
